In the case of cloud-based on-demand networks, each asset
is ingested to temporary storage and once the content is
veri;ed it is packaged, DRM is applied and is then transferred
to a playout server that provides content to the CDN when
requested by a viewer. CDNs can be geographically deployed
anywhere in the world, making it desirable to check QoS and
QoE in remote cloud-based locations.
HOW CAN TEKTRONIX HELP?
Tektronix offers QoE and QoS QC solutions for both live and
on-demand content in OTT networks, whether they are on-premise or cloud-based, anywhere in the world.
Sentry cloud and appliance solutions monitor each key point
along the live work;ow. Sentry QoE and QoS monitoring is
provided at ingest and encode and Sentry ABR is provided
for post packager/CDN monitoring. Sentry ABR solutions also
include DRM support, with a range of decryption options. This
ensures that live content is continuously checked for outages
and offers both true video quality QoE as well as operational
QoS monitoring for a complete view of the customer
experience exactly as they see and hear it themselves.
For on-demand applications, Tektronix provides the Aurora
automated ;le-based QC software tool that can be hosted
on cloud or on-premise servers. Aurora can QC check any
;le-based asset after it is ingested to validate that the asset
is vailable, that the content is in the correct format, and that
it can be played out with acceptable quality. Both Sentry
and Aurora are easily integrated into work;ow management
Tektronix is one of the best-known brands in the broadcast
industry and provides a full range of video analysis and
monitoring solutions for real time and ;le-based diagnostics
for all kinds of video networks. Broadcast customers are well-aware of Tektronix’ video monitoring solutions for acquisition
quality control including SDI, IP, 4K and HDR, but Tektronix

solutions for complete end-to-end monitoring of OTT networks
for both live and on-demand streaming.
